During this time we will go through the student level NWEA data provided to Principals last week to build a common understanding of how to use the data to progress monitor goals and improvement. Additionally, Principals will have the opportunity to use their student level data to create and/or adjust school-specific action plans

Rich Tasks and Productive Struggle in Mathematics: Session 1

 Student learning is greatest in classrooms where the tasks consistently encourage high-level student thinking and reasoning. This session will look at tasks that promote reasoning and problem solving along with ways to facilitate discourse that moves students toward a shared understanding of mathematics.

Supporting AAP Literacy Goals Across content areas with Digital resources Grades 9-12 Session 1

High school principals will have the opportunity to explore and discover how the district supported McGraw Hill Digital Science and Social Studies resources will augment their building’s literacy goals.  Principals will interact with the following tools and resources during this working session.
  • LearnSmart- an adaptive learning program that helps students succeed by providing a personalized learning path that’s based on their responses to questions, as well as their confidence about the answers they provide. 
  • Directed Reading and Reading Essentials
  • Foldables (Interactive graphic organizers)
  • Science Notebooking/ Inquiry Journal (Social Studies)
  • Primary Sources (Social Studies)
  • PBL
  • And much, much more!
After this session, principals will be able to encourage non-ELA teachers to take full advantage of the tools and work more efficiently to integrate literacy strategies into science and social studies content.
